WAGEO Today
WAGEO (Women and Girls Empowerment Organization) is a nonprofit, community-focused organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, women, and youth across The Gambia. Founded on the principles of empowerment, equity, and sustainable development, WAGEO works closely with underserved communities to create opportunities, uplift vulnerable groups, and deliver essential support where it is needed most.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower women, support young people, and protect children by providing access to education, healthcare, capacity-building, and sustainable development programs. We believe that strong, healthy, and educated communities are the foundation of a prosperous nation.
Our Current Major Project:
Tai-Fa Community Clinic
In response to urgent needs in the Central River Region, WAGEO is currently building a five-unit community clinic in Tai-Fa. This clinic will provide lifesaving healthcare to thousands who currently lack access, including pregnant women, children, and the elderly.
We are collaborating with the Ministry of Health and international partners to ensure staffing, medicines, and continuous support.
